PRESS RELEASE: Nishati Selected by USMC to Deliver Advanced Hybrid Power Generation for Tactical Operations

Outpost™ Hybrid Generator to Enhance Battlefield Power Capabilities

November 17, 2025

GILBERT, Ariz. – Nishati, Inc., a leader in distributed hybrid power solutions, was selected by the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) to deliver their next-generation 2kW Outpost™ Hybrid Generators (OHG) – known under the USMC Small Unit Power (SUP) program as the Lightweight DC Generator (LDCG) – with more than 600 scheduled to be delivered over the next two years. Built around the warfighter, Nishati’s first-of-its-kind hybrid generator was meticulously designed to support small unit operations with robust, modular, and scalable power. This state-of-the-art solution offers unmatched reliability to power mobile, light footprint, tactical units and systems in the future distributed fight.

“Demand for battlefield power is increasing exponentially, driven by advancements in communications, surveillance, unmanned systems (UxS), and small air defense platforms,” said Nishati Chief Executive Officer Robert Charette. “Our Outpost™ Hybrid Generator addresses a critical gap in existing power capabilities, offering a flexible, two-person portable unit that is essential for energizing today’s operational demands and seamlessly integrating with current and future power solutions.”

Outpost™ Hybrid Generator Highlights
  • USMC Ready: Designed to push the limits, the Nishati OHG 2000-DC exceeds the USMC SUP program’s standards for the LDCG. Not only is it powerful, rugged, and reliable, it’s designed to be intuitive and mission-ready, recognizing that simplicity is paramount in high-stress environments.
  • Reliable, Tested: The OHG 2000-DC represents a major leap forward in tactical power, ensuring that warfighters and their systems remain powered and operational at the tactical edge in any clime or place. OHG 2000-DC successfully completed government Mil-Std-810H / Mil-Std-705D environmental and long-term reliability testing at the Army’s Aberdeen Test Center in early 2025 – exceeding three times the objective level operating hours requirement and nine times the minimum requirement.  The system also excelled in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division’s operational performance and hybrid integration testing.
  • Field Proven Performance: The OHG 2000-DC showcased its best-in-class capabilities through multiple field user evaluations, exercises, and deployments across the USMC – supporting tactical communications, indirect fire, and mobile air defense capabilities.
  • Addressing Critical Capability Gaps: While the military is rapidly modernizing with technology, tactical power has remained largely unchanged. In the past 30 years, the U.S. military has not introduced a new diesel generator in the sub-5kW class. Nishati’s advanced generator integrates cutting-edge technology with a military-proven engine, resulting in maximum power density in a lightweight, portable solution that is as rugged, agile, and effective as the warfighters who will employ it.
  • Modular, Flexible, and Scalable Power: Requiring no additional lift capabilities, the modular OHG 2000-DC system can be tailored to specific mission needs – always providing the warfighter flexible power options no matter space, weight, or terrain constraints.  It delivers Mil-Std 28V DC utility-grade power up to 2.1kW and can handle surges exceeding 3kW without overloading or stalling.
  • Versatile and Adaptable: Providing tactical units with fuel flexibility, the OHG 2000-DC utilizes an air-cooled, single-cylinder diesel engine that operates on jet fuel and other military and commercial diesel fuels. The DC power output streamlines power scaling and allows for easy integration with batteries, DC/AC hybrid systems, and NATO platforms – further enabling Combined Joint All-Domain Operations today and into the future.

With this award, Nishati continues equipping the USMC with the power flexibility and reliability that is essential for mission success in the 21st century. OHG deliveries complement Nishati’s ongoing delivery of Outpost™ Solar Generator (OSG) 600 kits. Together, these systems are the power generation mainstay for the USMC SUP program.
